Japanese artist and printmaker, one of the most prolific and surprising Christian Japanese illustrator of the 20th century, whose exuberant and bizarre fantasy created vast Gospel scenes widely emulated by Japanese style.  He created many unique illustrations based on the Gospel of Saint John in the traditional Japanese style of the mingei (folk art) and had good success to realize it as a printmaker.
